THERAPY FOR TEENAGERS

You don't have to carry it all yourself

A psychologist who specialises in teenagers and young people, online and from wherever you feel comfortable. You choose who you talk to; an adult takes care of booking and payment.

Things people often tell us

  • Nerves or worries that won't go away
  • Sadness, tiredness or not wanting to do anything
  • School has become a mountain
  • Trouble with friends, feeling left out or being bullied
  • Arguments at home that never end
  • Social media or screens take up more of your time than you'd like

Someone who isn't from home or school

An adult trained to listen, who won't judge you or lecture you. You talk about what's going on, at your own pace, and work out together what could help.

What you say in a session is yours

Your parents know you go and how it's going in general, but they don't read your conversation or know what you say. The only exception is if there is a serious risk to your safety. If so, your psychologist will tell you first and you'll work out together how to share it.

If it's hard to say at home

You don't have to explain everything or get it right: you can just say you want to talk to someone. The Guide for you explains how to do it and what other options you have.

How it works

  1. You look and you choose

You can see the profiles of the psychologists who work with teenagers and say who you would feel comfortable with.

  2. An adult makes the booking

Booking and payment are done by your mum, your dad or whoever looks after you. You can start and ask them to join in.

  3. You have your own space

You log in with your own access to your sessions and to your conversation with your psychologist.

  4. Online, from wherever you like

50-minute video sessions, from somewhere you can talk calmly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see a psychologist without my parents knowing?
To have therapy at Psycho, an adult responsible for you has to authorise it and pay for it. If you don't want them to know right now, the ANAR Foundation helps young people your age for free and can guide you.
What happens in the first session?
You get to know each other. It's common for the adult to be there for part of it. You talk about whatever you want and decide together how to continue.
What if I don't feel comfortable?
You can switch to a different psychologist. Finding the right person for you is part of the process.
What ages do you work with?
With teenagers up to 17. Each profile shows which ages that psychologist works with.
