Frequently asked questions about We Are Psycho
Find complete answers on how the service works, methodology, pricing, privacy, and platform policies.
What age groups does We Are Psycho support?
We Are Psycho provides psychological support for adolescents (with parent or legal guardian consent when required) and young adults, with family support when needed.
What is online therapy with We Are Psycho exactly?
We Are Psycho is a technology platform that connects you with your therapist. From it you can attend sessions, manage your schedule, and message your therapist in one place. For the best experience, we recommend a stable connection, a device with camera, and a private space.
What are the main benefits of online therapy with We Are Psycho?
Online therapy offers flexibility, convenience, and continuity. You can attend sessions from home, save commuting time, manage appointments easily, and stay connected with your therapist in a secure and confidential environment.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes. Current scientific evidence shows that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy when it is clinically appropriate and delivered by qualified professionals.
Are there limitations to online therapy?
Although it is an effective format, it does not replace emergency care in high-risk situations. If your mental or physical health is in immediate danger, contact emergency services right away.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
No. We Are Psycho is an online therapy platform: every session is a 50-minute video call from wherever you choose. If you need in-person care, we recommend looking for a centre near you.
Do you write reports, sick leave or expert assessments?
No. We do not issue sick leave, expert reports or diagnoses for third parties. Our work is the therapeutic support of the person who comes to the session.
Do you prescribe medication or offer psychiatry?
No. Our team is made up of psychologists, and medication is assessed and prescribed by medical staff. If your therapist thinks a psychiatric assessment could help you, they will tell you so you can raise it with your doctor.
Who is on We Are Psycho's professional team?
We Are Psycho's team includes licensed psychologists with experience across different clinical areas. We use a rigorous selection process and maintain ongoing clinical supervision.
What therapeutic approach does We Are Psycho use?
We use an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and mindfulness-based tools depending on each person's needs.
Is We Are Psycho specialized in specific areas?
Yes. We commonly support anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, behavioral difficulties, addictions, neurodevelopment-related challenges, family or relationship difficulties, and any other difficulty in adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and couples.
How do you ensure quality of care?
To maintain quality, the team participates in regular case supervision and, for complex situations, we may use a multidisciplinary approach.
What mental health concerns can I get help with at We Are Psycho?
We support concerns such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, phobias, OCD, self-harm, addictions, ADHD, autism spectrum-related needs, grief, family conflict, eating disorders, and other emotional or relational challenges.
Why are you called We Are Psycho and not We Are Psico?
We are called We Are Psycho, with the full English word psycho. Over the years we have seen it all: We Are Psico, We Are Psicho, We Are Psyco, We Are Psiko and even We Are Psicologia — and if you write to us that way, we know you mean us. In English, psycho means not being quite right in the head, and we chose the word because we believe everyone is a little bit like that: we reclaim its most human side so that talking about mental health stops being a taboo. It is the intention that matters, not the spelling.
How do I start therapy at We Are Psycho?
You can start by booking a free 20-minute consultation or by requesting an appointment directly. Then you complete a short questionnaire, we show compatible therapist profiles, and you choose your professional, schedule, and first session. Once started, you receive a personalized care plan in the platform.
What is the free 20-minute information call?
It is a conversation with our clinical leadership team to understand your situation, answer your questions, and guide you on the best way to start with We Are Psycho, with no commitment. It is not a therapy session or a clinical assessment, and you do not have to go through it to book an appointment.
How are therapists assigned?
We use a matching system to suggest professionals based on your needs, goals, and preferences (for example, language or working style) to increase therapeutic fit from the beginning.
How much do sessions cost at We Are Psycho?
Individual sessions have a base price of €60, and the first individual session has a 50% discount (€30). Some specialized formats may include supplements; you will always see the final price before booking and paying.
What payment methods are available?
You can pay securely with VISA or MASTERCARD through Stripe. Transactions are encrypted with SSL/TLS, and We Are Psycho does not store full card details.
What should I do in an emergency or severe crisis?
We Are Psycho is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, at risk of self-harm, having suicidal thoughts, or in danger of harming yourself or others, call emergency services immediately.
What is a therapy session like at We Are Psycho?
A standard session lasts 50 minutes and is held by video call. Your therapist adapts the work to your clinical goals and may include exercises, readings, questionnaires, or personalized resources.
What if I do not feel a good fit with my therapist?
If you do not feel comfortable with your therapist, you can let us know and request a change. Our team will help you make that transition quickly.
What can I expect from We Are Psycho's platform?
It is a 100% online platform that is easy to use on mobile, tablet, or desktop. You can manage appointments, access video sessions, use secure messaging, and review personalized resources.

Does We Are Psycho support minors?

Do I need parent or guardian consent if I am under 18?
It depends what you are booking. You can book the free 20-minute informational consultation yourself from age 16. To start therapy while under 18, we do require explicit and verifiable consent from your parent or legal guardian, in line with current legislation and enhanced data protection safeguards.
How do you protect my privacy and personal data?
Privacy is a priority at We Are Psycho. We process personal data to provide the service securely, using encrypted platforms and connections (SSL/TLS), strict access controls, and technical safeguards. Data is hosted in the European Union and retained according to applicable legal periods.
Who can access my information?
We do not sell or rent personal data. Access is limited to authorized professionals and essential service providers under confidentiality obligations. Information may also be shared when legally required or in situations of serious risk, and with your consent when applicable.
Are sessions recorded?
No. Sessions are not recorded unless there is explicit and specific consent from the people involved.
What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?
You can cancel or modify a confirmed appointment with at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled time. When you cancel, you need to rebook the session. Appointments can be booked up to one month in advance.
How many times can I reschedule a session?
Each paid session can be cancelled and rescheduled up to three times. After that limit, the session is considered definitively cancelled.
