Complex cases
Risk, adolescents and families, comorbidity or referral decisions you would rather not make alone.

Flavia Mercier
Health psychologist and psychoanalyst
Fifteen years in the business world, and then the wish to accompany people in a different way.
Some paths into psychology are straight; others take a detour. Flavia's ran through strategy consulting, marketing and company management before it reached the consulting room. That detour is now part of her clinical outlook: she knows from the inside the pressure of work, career transitions and how hard it is to balance work and family life.
Why supervise with her?
You will find a supervisor with a psychoanalytic and integrative orientation, who has supervised other psychologists since 2024 and works in Spanish and English. Warm, committed and flexible, she adapts her approach to the context and needs of each case.
You can bring:
- Cases involving children and adolescents, and work with their parents and school.
- Anxiety, depression, grief, and family, relationship or work conflicts.
- Migration and cultural adjustment, and cases you see in English.
- Work stress, career decisions and workplace conflict.
- Assessment and diagnostic questions: clinical interview, testing and case formulation.
Read her background
Flavia is Argentinian and has lived in Catalonia for twenty-five years. Before turning to psychology she spent fifteen years in strategy consulting, marketing and change management, at companies such as A.T. Kearney, Manpower, Coca-Cola Argentina and BBVA Banco Francés. With her own consultancy she supported family businesses through generational succession. That was when she discovered the wish to accompany people in a more personal and meaningful way.
Training in two stages
With a degree in International Trade from UADE in Buenos Aires and an MBA from IESE Business School, she went back to university for a degree in Psychology, with a clinical psychology specialisation, at the UOC, and the Master's in General Health Psychology at the UAB. She is a psychoanalyst with a Lacanian orientation and also works from an integrative perspective that combines psychoanalysis with cognitive behavioural therapy.
Clinical work across the life cycle
She trained at Dexeus Psychiatry and Psychology, at the CMIJ of the Fundació Nou Barris and at the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera. At the Centro Asistencial Sigmund in Viladecans she worked with children, adolescents and adults (anxiety, phobias, grief, behavioural problems, family conflict and autism) and coordinated with families, schools and health and social services. At Tot Teràpia in Sant Cugat del Vallès she worked with children and parents from a psychoanalytic approach and carried out psychological assessment and diagnosis.
With children and adolescents she usually involves the parents, and sometimes the teachers too, because she sees the symptom as the expression of a distress that runs through their whole environment.
Today
Since 2019 she has had a private practice in Barcelona and online, where she sees people for both short-term and long-term work in Spanish and English, many of them international professionals and students. She also works as a clinical psychologist and executive coach at Lyra Health. Since 2024 she has supervised other psychologists:
- Weekly group supervision of the Tot Teràpia psychology team's cases, with an integrative orientation (psychoanalysis and cognitive behavioural therapy).
- Individual clinical supervision in her practice, with a Lacanian psychoanalytic orientation.
She sees psychology as a way of helping people unfold their potential in an increasingly demanding, changing and global world.

Ainhoa Corbera
Clinical psychologist, co-founder and clinical director of We Are Psycho
More than twenty years alongside people who needed help, and now alongside you.
Some professionals learned psychology from books. Ainhoa learned it in the corridors of a neuropsychiatric hospital, in a unit for adolescents with severe mental illness, in classrooms, in families' homes and in multidisciplinary team meetings where every decision mattered.
Why supervise with her?
You will find a supervisor with experience in hospitals, schools, private practice and the public system, who works in Catalan, Spanish and English and understands that every therapist has their own style and pace.
You can bring:
- Adolescent cases and work with their families.
- Diagnostic questions, especially around developmental disorders and the autism spectrum.
- Complex presentations where the clinical picture gets tangled: anxiety, mood, behaviour, trauma, risk.
- Transdisciplinary teamwork and coordination with other professionals.
- Your own knots: countertransference, therapeutic boundaries, the relationship with parents.
Read her background
Her story begins in Barcelona, with a degree in Psychology (clinical track) at the UAB and an Erasmus year at the University of Sunderland, where she delved into health psychology, grief and counselling. Her first placements were the kind that leave a mark: severe psychosis, neurotic crises, addiction and cognitive decline at the Hospital Sagrat Cor in Martorell, and eating disorders at the ABB Centre. None of it easy ground, which is why it was such a good school.
Ten years in the British public system
Then came the move to England, which lasted more than ten years. At the Darwin Centre for Young People (NHS, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough) she worked in a residential unit for 12- to 18-year-olds with severe mental illness: individual care plans, groups, family work and coordination with the nursing team. It was her first encounter with the real complexity of intensive care.
From 2008 she was a clinical psychologist in the CAMHS of the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Mental Health Trust in London, providing assessment, focused interventions with children, young people and families, and consultation and training for other professionals, in hospital settings as well as in schools and family homes.
Training that goes to the root
Ainhoa brings a psychodynamic and integrative outlook, built through two master's degrees in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the ACPP, the Postgraduate Diploma/MA in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies at the Tavistock and Portman in London, and seminars on Klein, Bion and Meltzer. To this she adds very current tools:
- Mentalization: MBT-F (mentalization-based treatment for families) and multifamily mentalization groups in schools, at the Anna Freud Centre in London.
- Autism: ADI-R and ADOS-2 accreditation for diagnosis, and training in the SCERTS model with its co-creator, Dr Barry Prizant.
Back home, with everything she has learned
At Tot Teràpia, working as a clinical psychologist and coordinator of a transdisciplinary team of psychologists, educational psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, a physiotherapist, functional neurology and kinesiology. Carrying out assessment, diagnosis and individual, family and group psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults: mood and anxiety disorders, behavioural and developmental disorders, parenting support, social skills groups, self-esteem and emotions.
At EDAI, working as a consultant and trainer on bullying, disruptive behaviour in the classroom and naturalistic interventions from an attachment perspective. She was also technical and clinical supervisor of the UNIE project, which she helped design to offer assessment and treatment within the child's school and family environment. She has trained parents and professionals, spoken at conferences and contributed to media and publications.
Today
Ainhoa is co-founder and clinical director of We Are Psycho, where she supervises the team and runs training on:
- Self-harm: an integrative view
- Semi-structured projective techniques
- Stephen Porges's polyvagal theory (clinical applications)
